Prior to Installation
Ensure that all Weatherproof products are stored in a dry environment prior to installation. When installing, the following Woodhouse Weatherproof® painting system should be ovserved to ensure the best performance of the product.
Painting Woodhouse Weatherproof® - The Final Coat2x
Woodhouse Weatherproof® has been factory coated with a high quality architectural solvent (alkyd) primer and is ready for the final coat painting system. To ensure the best performance from Woodhouse Weatherproof® in construction and the prevailing environment after installation, the following painting guidelines are recommended.

STEP 1 |
Ensure that the primed timber is free from any dirt, oil or any other surface contaminants. Remove thoroughly by wiping clean or lightly sanding. |

STEP 2 |
The best performance from Woodhouse Weatherproof® is achieved when finishing coats are applied within 8 weeks of installation. If the primer appears or becomes chalky or loose, lightly sand these areas as required and re-prime with a premium quality primer. Prime any cut ends prior to installation with a resealer such as Protim Timbercare XJ and a quality primer to ensure the product is sealed. |

STEP 3 |
Fill any defects or nail holes with wood putty and spot prime. Sand lightly to an even finish once dry. |

STEP 4 |
Apply either 2 coats of quality acrylic or solvent based top coats to the prepared product – The Final Coat2x painting system. |

STEP 5 |
To achieve the best performance of your Woodhouse Weatherproof® product, maintain the finishing coat system as per the manufacturer’s instructions and re-apply as directed or as needed. |
WOODHOUSE Weatherproof® Product Installation
The relevant sections of the Building Code of Australia are to be used as guidelines for the correct installation and application of the Woodhouse Weatherproof® range of products. The LOSP treatments used in the Weatherproof range are non-corrosive with conventional fixings that are classified as hot dipped galvanised.
Handling Woodhouse Weatherproof® and Disposing of Offcuts
Ensure that all Woodhouse Weatherproof® products are kept dry and away from moisture prior to installation to minimise the potention of on-site degrade. When cutting, drilling and planing any timber products in the Weatherproof range, wear personal protective equipment including gloves, mask and goggles.
All Weatherproof off-cuts or shavings should not be incinerated/burnt in open fires or barbecues, or used in gardens or landscaping. Direct all unusable material towards the normal household or building site waste disposal.
